TERMS and conditions

Fees and Payments

  •  Fees will be invoiced termly and should be settled at the start of each term, or by the payment date stated on the invoice.

  • Dependant on individual circumstances, En-Core Dance and Pilates is able to offer alternative payment plans. Please speak directly to Sally directly if you require this or would like to discuss further.

  • Payment is currently accepted by Cash, Cheque or BACS transfer (please email for account details if this is your preferred method of payment and please address cheques to Sally Mitchell).

  • A late payment fee of £10 will be added to all invoices if payment has not been made within 30 days (unless a payment plan has been agreed.)

  • We regret that we are unable to refund for missed lessons due to family holidays, school trips, school exams or short-term sickness or injury. Where appropriate, and if agreed with En-Core Dance and Pilates in advance of an absence, students may be allowed to attend another class free of charge to make up for the missed lesson.

Withdrawal from classes

  • If students wish to withdraw from classes, they are required to give a minimum of 4 weeks notice (which must be paid for) unless discussed and agreed with En-Core Dance and Pilates as a result of exceptional circumstances.

Class Attendance and behaviour

  • Students are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times. Negative comments or behaviour are not welcome within the school.

  • Bullying of any form will not be tolerated.

  • Students should show respect for the class venue, and the facilities within the venue; using them considerately.

  • Regular attendance is extremely important. If students do not attend on a regular basis, then the development of the class and the individual student will be affected. Students’ attendance will be monitored as they prepare for their examinations and assessments, and those who fail to attend classes and additional lessons may be withdrawn.

  • In the interests of safe dance practice, jewellery must not be worn, unless for religious or cultural reasons.

  • Hair must be tied back & off the face in a bun (or other tidy equivalent.)

  • Correct uniform and footwear should be worn for all classes.

  • Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to classes and water breaks will be given where necessary throughout the lessons.

  • If a student is unable to attend a class, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

Safe touch waiver

  • Due to the nature of dance classes, appropriate physical contact between the teacher and student may be necessary to aid correction and learning.

Pick up and drop off policy

  • In line with our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, it is expected children in year 5 and below will be escorted to and from dance classes safely by a parent/guardian.  Specific instructions must be given in writing if you have arranged with your child to leave the dance class alone and make their own way off the site alone.

  • Please communicate permissions in advance for someone other than a known parent/guardian/family member to collect your child from their dance class, and ensure that your contact details are kept up-to-date in the event that the Teacher needs to confirm any changes to pick-up arrangements.

Exams

  • Exams are not compulsory. Students choosing not to participate in exams will be offered the chance to advance through the grades (without involvement in the exams), if deemed suitable by teacher/principal.

  • Each student progresses through the examination process based on their individual ability and their readiness to take the exam. The teacher monitors the students’ progress to ensure they have reached the necessary standard before entering for the examination. Often taking additional weekly classes or exam coaching classes in the term of the examination, or earlier in the Vocational levels is advised. This will be clearly communicated when committing or signing up for an examination.
